What’s actually inside

Leofoo Village sits in Guanxi Township, about a 40-minute drive south of Hsinchu city, spread across six themed lands. Arabia, South Pacific, Wild West and East Meets West anchor the ride zones; the African Safari section is a drive-through wildlife area with lions, giraffes and zebras viewed from a park tram or your own car on select days.

A steam train loops part of the grounds, an old-fashioned touch that contrasts with the coaster-heavy Wild West zone. Animal shows run on a set daily schedule in the amphitheater near the safari entrance; check the posted times board just inside the main gate rather than guessing.

The park consistently pulls one of the highest review counts of any Taiwan attraction, and it earns that traffic: this is a full-day park, not a half-day detour.

Hours that actually change your plan

Monday through Friday, gates run 9:30am to 5pm, a tight window if you want rides and the safari and a show. Saturday and Sunday hours extend to 9am–7:30pm, nearly three extra hours and an earlier start.

If your schedule allows any day of the week, pick a weekend for the longer hours despite the bigger crowds, or a weekday if you’d rather trade an hour or two of park time for thinner lines. Confirm hours on the official site before booking transport, since seasonal schedules do shift.

Beating the queues at a very popular park

This is not an under-the-radar spot. It’s one of Taiwan’s most-visited theme parks, and lines on the marquee coasters build fast once school groups and tour buses arrive mid-morning.

Practical moves:

• Arrive at the gate before opening time and head straight to the Wild West coaster zone first; it fills quickest.
• Save the African Safari drive-through for late morning, after the initial rush has spread across the park.
• Watch for animal show times posted at the entrance and plan ride queues around them rather than the reverse.
• Weekday visitors get a shorter window (5pm close) but noticeably shorter lines than weekend crowds.

Locals don’t treat this as their personal spot the way they might a night market, so there’s no insider back door: everyone queues the same way, tourist or not.

Getting there and what to bring

There’s no direct high-speed rail or train stop at the park itself. Most visitors arrive by shuttle bus from Hsinchu HSR Station or by car via National Highway 3, with parking on site.

Pack for a full day outdoors: Guanxi’s summers run hot and humid, and the safari and outdoor coaster queues offer little shade. A change of clothes helps if you’re hitting any water rides in the South Pacific zone. Budget six to eight hours to cover the safari, two or three major rides, and one animal show without rushing.
