Methodology

  • SourceLive foot-traffic forecasts from BestTime.app, collected place by place.
  • AdjustedFitted to each place’s opening hours and to 7 AM–10 PM.
  • RuleNo estimates. A place without a reliable forecast is left out.

Quiet and busy hours come from BestTime.app live foot-traffic forecasts, collected for each venue individually and clamped to its opening hours within a 7 AM–10 PM window. 1160 venues currently carry data, and the set grows as new guides are published. Nothing is estimated: venues without a reliable forecast are excluded rather than guessed.

Frequently asked questions

How crowd levels are calculated is set out on the methodology page.

How are crowd levels calculated?

From each venue’s measured visit data, hour by hour (BestTime.app foot-traffic forecasts), limited to its opening hours. We pick the quietest and busiest hours of the day from that.

Which time zone are the hours in?

Always the place’s own local time. "Now" mode works out each place’s current time where it is, so a Seoul museum and a New York café are each judged by their own clock.

Why are weekdays and weekends separate?

Most places are busier at different hours on weekends. Where a place’s days differ, the card names the days its quiet hours apply to.

Are there places without data?

Yes. Only places with a measured forecast appear here. Holidays and special events can change crowds from the usual pattern.
