Two February nights on Bay Street
IVE plays Scotiabank Arena on February 18 and 19, 2027. These are two shows on the group’s 2027 world tour. Both take place in the bowl where the Maple Leafs and Raptors play their home games. The building opened in 1999 as the Air Canada Centre and took its current name in 2018.
IVE is a six-member group from Starship Entertainment that debuted in December 2021. The members are:
- Ahn Yu-jin
- Gaeul
- Rei
- Jang Won-young
- Liz
- Leeseo
Their catalogue runs from “Eleven” and “Love Dive” through “After Like”, “I Am” and “Baddie” to “HEYA”. The setlist is not part of the facts here, so this guide doesn’t predict one.
Union Station, the PATH and the cold
The arena sits at 40 Bay Street in South Core, just south of Union Station. Union is a stop on TTC Line 1 (Yonge–University). It is also the hub for GO Transit trains and the UP Express from Pearson Airport. An indoor connection runs from Union to the arena’s doors.
That matters in February. Toronto evenings that month are often below freezing, and the PATH walkway keeps fans indoors from the train platform to security. Drivers have paid lots around Bremner Boulevard and Lake Shore. Traffic on the Gardiner Expressway is heavy after events, and many concertgoers simply take transit both ways.
Inside the arena with DIVE
IVE’s fandom is called DIVE, and on show nights you see it before you reach the doors. Maple Leaf Square, the plaza on the arena’s west side, fills with fans in matching outfits and fans holding hand-lettered banners. People also trade photocards on the plaza.
Most attendees carry the official IVE lightstick. Arena-wide lighting effects make the most sense when the bowl glows in one colour. Fans typically queue for merchandise well before doors, and the merch line is often longer than the security line.
How the fanchant works
K-pop shows here have their own etiquette, and newcomers pick it up fast:
- Fanchants: Starship releases official chant guides for the singles. The crowd shouts the members’ names in a set order during the intros, so learning one song’s chant pays off.
- Lightsticks: Fans hold them up during ballads and keep them down when people behind would lose the view.
- Phones: Most of the crowd films short clips and doesn’t hold a phone up for whole songs. Ushers watch for full-length recording.
- Payment: Arena concessions and most of the nearby bars take card and tap. Tipping on table service in Toronto is customary, as a percentage of the bill.
After the encore, the PATH and Union’s platforms back up for a while. Many fans wait it out with food along the South Core towers, or at Union Station’s food court, before heading for the trains. The CN Tower and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada are a short walk west, so fans in town for both nights often fill the daytime in between with them.
