Most travellers arrive via Dresden Airport (DRS), whose underground S-Bahn station sits directly beneath the terminal and puts the S2 line in ~15-20 minutes of Dresden Hauptbahnhof, the city's main long-distance station with direct ICE and IC services from Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt and Prague. A secondary stop, Dresden-Neustadt, just north of the river, is served by many of the same long-distance trains, so check which station is closer to your accommodation before booking.
