A tribute show on the Yas Bay waterfront
This is a cover show, and that’s the whole point. K-POP Fever puts a troupe of professional singers and dancers on the Etihad Arena stage to perform the music of BTS, BLACKPINK and KATSEYE. It is staged in Abu Dhabi on September 26, 2026.
The appeal is simple. You get the hooks, the synchronised formations and the singalong choruses of three of K-pop’s best-known names, in a full-size arena, without waiting for a world tour to reach the Gulf. Think of it as a large-scale party built around songs the crowd already knows by heart.
Tribute, not the real members
The billing is careful, and you should read it carefully too. The show is “inspired by” BTS, BLACKPINK and KATSEYE. None of those artists are on stage, and the performers are a dedicated tribute company.
That changes what a good night looks like. Nobody is there for fan service from a specific idol. They’re there for the songs, the choreography and the shared noise of a few thousand people shouting the same lyrics. The set list and running order are the organiser’s to share; none were given to us, so we won’t guess them here.
Who tends to enjoy it most:
- Families with younger fans who haven’t yet seen a K-pop concert
- Groups of friends who know the dance breaks and want to do them in a crowd
- Fans who follow all three acts and like hearing them in one evening
Etihad Arena, explained
Etihad Arena opened in 2021 as the UAE capital’s biggest indoor entertainment venue. It sits on the Yas Bay waterfront on Yas Island, roughly 25 minutes’ drive east of downtown Abu Dhabi. Its facade wraps the building in a pale, curved shell that lights up after dark.
Inside, it’s a modern bowl arena with tiered seating rising around a flat main floor. The floor can be set out as standing or seated depending on the show. Because the venue is fully air-conditioned, the temperature drop from a September evening outside is sharp. Many concertgoers carry a light layer for that reason.
Yas Island is a purpose-built leisure district, so the arena has big-name neighbours:
- Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
- Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, with its red roof visible from the highway
- Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi
- Yas Mall, one of the larger malls in the emirate
Getting to Yas Island
Most people come by car or taxi. Yas Island lies just off the E10 and E11 highways, between central Abu Dhabi and the road to Dubai. Zayed International Airport is only a short drive away, which is handy for anyone flying in for the weekend.
From Dubai, the drive takes roughly an hour and a quarter, depending on traffic and where you start. Plenty of fans from Dubai and Sharjah treat an Etihad Arena show as a day trip. Others stay on Yas Island, where several hotels sit within a short ride of the arena.
Getting around on the night:
- Taxi and ride-hailing: Abu Dhabi taxis, Uber and Careem all serve Yas Island
- Driving: Yas Bay has parking close to the arena; exits get slow when a full house leaves at once
- Public bus: Abu Dhabi’s bus network reaches Yas Island, though a late finish makes a car or taxi the easier option
Yas Bay before the lights go down
The arena’s surroundings are part of the evening. Yas Bay is a waterfront promenade lined with restaurants, cafés and terraces looking across the water. Concertgoers usually eat here before the show rather than relying on arena concessions.
Late September in Abu Dhabi is still hot and humid after dark. The seafront terraces have shade and misting fans in places, but most people move between air-conditioned spaces. After the encore, the promenade stays lively and gives the car park traffic time to thin.
If you’re travelling with children, Yas Mall and the theme parks make it easy to build a full day around the concert. A typical pattern is an afternoon at one of the parks, an early dinner at Yas Bay, then the arena.
Lightsticks, chants and arena manners
K-pop concerts have their own etiquette, and tribute shows borrow most of it. Fans often bring lightsticks or phone torches, and many learn the fan chants for the choruses. Matching outfits or group merch are common among friend groups. None of it is required, but joining in is half the fun.
A few things that help the night go smoothly here:
- Dress: the arena is relaxed, but the UAE expects modest dress in public, and the Yas Bay walk is public. Shoulders and knees covered is a safe default.
- Bags: big UAE arena shows usually restrict large bags and outside food or drink, so fans tend to travel light.
- Filming: short clips are normal at concerts, but holding a phone up for a whole song blocks the people behind you.
- Behaviour: public displays of affection and rowdy drunkenness are frowned on in the UAE. Keep the energy in the singing.
- Paying: card and mobile payments are widely accepted across Yas Island.
On the floor, people pack in near the stage for the big dance numbers. Families with small children usually prefer seats in the tiers, where the sightlines take in the whole formation of the choreography.
