Arirang comes to Docklands
The tour’s name is a song older than any stadium. “Arirang” is the Korean folk melody many people call the country’s unofficial anthem. Naming a comeback world tour after it is BTS planting a flag.
In Melbourne, that flag goes up at Marvel Stadium. It is the steel-and-glass bowl on the western edge of the CBD, where the city meets Victoria Harbour. The shows run February 10–13, 2027, and the tour then heads north to Sydney.
The organiser publishes the dates, venue details and ticket links on its official site. That page is the reference point for seat maps and resale rules.
The stadium itself
Marvel Stadium is built for crowds of tens of thousands. It is one of the largest venues in Melbourne. On AFL weekends it holds football, and for concerts the stage usually sits at one end of the oval, with floor sections laid across the turf.
Its party trick is the retractable roof. Melbourne’s February weather can swing from hot afternoons to cool, gusty evenings. A closed roof keeps the sound in and the rain out, so a stadium show here feels more like an arena show than an open-air gig.
Seating rises in three main tiers around the bowl:
- Floor: standing or seated sections on the field, closest to the stage
- Lower tier: the best balance of view and atmosphere
- Upper tiers: a full view of the light-stick sea, plus the stage production
Getting to Marvel Stadium
Getting there is easy, mostly on foot. Southern Cross Station, Melbourne’s main regional and suburban rail hub, is a few minutes’ walk away. The Bourke Street pedestrian bridge carries you over the rail yards and drops you almost at the stadium gates.
Docklands sits inside the Free Tram Zone. Trams running along Harbour Esplanade and La Trobe Street take you to the stadium’s doorstep at no cost, with no need to touch on.
Driving is the slow option. Stadium-night traffic around Docklands and the West Gate approaches is heavy, and most concertgoers come by train or tram instead.
Where fans base themselves
Most visiting fans stay in the CBD or Southbank. Both are walkable or a short tram ride to Docklands. Hotels right along Docklands’ waterfront put you closest of all, which helps after a late finish.
Between shows, the city does the rest:
- Victoria Harbour promenade: the waterfront path next to the stadium
- Melbourne CBD laneways: coffee, bars and dumpling houses a tram stop or two east
- Korean food: the city centre has plenty of Korean barbecue and fried-chicken spots, a popular pre-show meal for fans
- Southbank and the Yarra: the arts precinct and riverside walk across the river
Fans flying in for several nights often go on to the Sydney shows as well.
How ARMY does a stadium night
The fandom has its own rituals. Most attendees carry the official ARMY Bomb light stick, which syncs with the show so the whole stadium shifts colour together. Fans in the queue swap handmade freebies like photocards, stickers and small keepsakes. If someone offers you one, the usual reply is to accept with thanks or to swap.
Fan chants are part of the show. Korean fans shout members’ names in set orders during certain songs, and fan sites and Weverse communities circulate the chant guides. People who learn them tend to enjoy the night more.
A few practical habits work here:
- Payment: card and phone payments are the norm at Melbourne venues and on public transport top-ups
- Myki: outside the Free Tram Zone, trains and trams need a myki card or mobile myki
- Bags: the stadium’s bag and item rules are posted on the Marvel Stadium website
- Merch: official merchandise queues tend to be longest on show days, so many fans shop on a non-show day if a pre-sale booth runs
After the encore
Thousands of people leave at once. The rush heads for Southern Cross Station and the Bourke Street bridge, and staff usually manage the platforms in waves. Fans staying in the CBD often skip the crush and walk the fifteen or so minutes back into town along Bourke or Collins Street.
The harbour-side bars and late-night food in Docklands give the crowd time to thin out. By the time you reach the city grid, the trams are moving freely again.
