How do I get to Koh Chang?
There's no airport on Koh Chang itself — the nearest is Trat Airport (TDX), served by Bangkok Airways flights from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), about ~20-30 minutes by road from the mainland ferry pier at Ao Thammachat. Most travellers instead take a bus from Bangkok to Trat (or the Ekkamai bus terminal) and then a ferry across to the island, since there is no rail line serving this part of Thailand.
How many days should I spend in Koh Chang?
Plan on ~3-5 days to settle into a west-coast beach, hike to a couple of the island's waterfalls, and fit in a snorkeling or diving trip to the surrounding marine park islands.
