One match, one night in Brooklyn
Worlds 2026 ends in Brooklyn. Weeks of group and knockout play happen in Allen, Texas, and on November 14, 2026, the last two teams standing play a best-of-five final at Barclays Center for the Summoner’s Cup.
Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends, runs the championship and publishes ticket links and event details on its official Worlds channels. The final returns to the United States after earlier editions in Los Angeles and San Francisco. This is the first time New York has held the deciding match.
Where the final is played
Barclays Center is hard to miss. The arena opened in 2012 at the corner of Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues, where Prospect Heights, Fort Greene and Downtown Brooklyn meet. It is clad in pre-weathered steel panels that have a rust-brown colour, and a wide canopy with an oval opening, called the oculus, hangs over the entrance plaza.
On most nights the arena is home to the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the WNBA’s New York Liberty. For the final, the stage goes on the floor and giant screens hang above it, with seats rising on every side. Worlds finals traditionally open with a live ceremony built around that year’s official anthem, before the first game’s champion select.
Getting to Atlantic and Flatbush
The subway drops you at the arena doors. Atlantic Av–Barclays Ctr station is served by these lines:
- 2, 3, 4, 5 from Lower Manhattan, Union Square and the East Side
- B, D, N, Q from Midtown via Herald Square and 34th Street
- R along Fourth Avenue and Lower Manhattan
The Long Island Rail Road ends at Atlantic Terminal, right across the street. From Midtown Manhattan the trip usually takes 20–30 minutes by subway. Parking around the arena is limited and expensive, so most fans take the train.
Out-of-town visitors usually stay in Downtown Brooklyn, which is walkable to the arena, or in Midtown, which is a short ride on the B, D or Q. Fans with time to spare head down Flatbush to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, or along Atlantic Avenue for Middle Eastern groceries and bars.
Finals night at Barclays
Esports crowds behave differently from basketball crowds. Fans often wear team jerseys, and cosplay of League champions is common in the concourses. Chants for each finalist pass back and forth between sections between games. A best-of-five can go well past three hours when it runs the full distance, and most of the arena stays seated for every game.
A few habits help on the night:
- Bags: security screens everyone at the doors, so regulars bring as little as possible.
- Paying: arena concessions run mostly on card and mobile payment.
- Tipping: at bars nearby, 15–20% of the bill is the US norm, and a dollar or two per drink at the counter.
- Merch: official Worlds merchandise stands draw the longest concourse lines, and fans often visit them before the opening ceremony.
Watch parties for fans who can’t get in are common at bars and gaming venues across the city on finals night. The match also streams live worldwide on Riot’s official broadcast channels.
