How do I get to Chiayi?
Chiayi has no significant commercial airport, so travellers arrive by rail: either the Taiwan High Speed Rail's Chiayi Station (in Taibao, outside the city centre) or the older Taiwan Railway (TRA) Chiayi Station right in downtown, both connected to each other by shuttle bus/BRT. From either station, onward travel into the mountains (notably Alishan) continues by dedicated tourist shuttle buses that depart from just outside the stations.
How many days should I spend in Chiayi?
