The last round of the season
Valencia gets the final word. The Motul Grand Prix of the Valencian Community is the season finale of the MotoGP World Championship, held November 27-29, 2026. In a close year, this is where the title is settled. Even when it is already decided, the weekend has an end-of-term mood, with farewell laps and riders on their last outings in team colours.
The weekend follows the standard MotoGP format, with Moto2 and Moto3 sharing the bill:
- Friday: practice sessions for all three classes
- Saturday: qualifying, then the MotoGP Sprint
- Sunday: the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP Grands Prix
Exact session times are not listed here. Confirm timing and tickets on the official MotoGP site.
A stadium of a racetrack
Circuit Ricardo Tormo is compact. It opened in 1999 and is named after the Valencian rider Ricardo Tormo, 50cc world champion in 1978 and 1981. The lap is about 4 km and runs anticlockwise. It sits in a natural bowl ringed by grandstands, so from most seats you can follow a large part of the lap without a screen.
That layout is the reason to pick your stand with care. The main straight gives you the start, the finish and the pit lane. The stands around the infield’s tight sequence of left-handers put you close to the overtaking. Every grandstand at this circuit is uncovered, so sun or drizzle lands on you either way.
Getting from the city to Cheste
The circuit is in open country near Cheste, roughly 25 km west of central Valencia, just off the A-3 motorway towards Madrid. The Metrovalencia network does not reach the gates. On race weekends most fans go by car, coach or dedicated shuttle bus. Check the circuit’s official site for the current shuttle arrangements before you rely on one.
Sunday morning traffic on the A-3 backs up for kilometres, and the post-race exit is slower. If you are driving, plan to arrive hours before the first race and keep the evening free. Staying in Valencia gives you the most choice of hotels. Towns along the A-3 such as Cheste and Chiva put you closer to the circuit, but there are far fewer beds.
Race-day habits at Ricardo Tormo
Seasoned fans treat the finale as a full day out. Here is how to make it easier:
- Dress in layers. Late November mornings in the bowl are cold. Afternoons are often mild, and you will be sitting in open stands from start to finish.
- Bring ear protection. MotoGP bikes are very loud at close range, and the bowl holds the noise in.
- Take your seat early on Sunday. The grid walk and pre-race build-up fill the stands well before the MotoGP start.
- Wear team colours. Spanish fans turn out in force for home riders. Expect flags, smoke flares in the car parks and a loud crowd whenever a Spaniard leads.
- Use the official channels. Buy tickets only through the official MotoGP or circuit websites, which also post current prices and grandstand maps.
Give yourself a spare day in Valencia either side of the race. The City of Arts and Sciences, the Central Market and a proper paella in the beach district of El Cabanyal all make good use of the time while the A-3 clears.

Bring warm layers for the cold morning, ear protection, sun protection and a rain layer, because the grandstands are uncovered. Plan to arrive early, as A-3 traffic builds on Sunday morning.
