Most international travellers arrive via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL/KLIA), ~45-50 km south of the city; the KLIA Ekspres train runs non-stop to KL Sentral station in ~28 minutes, while airport buses and taxis to the city centre take roughly 1 hour depending on traffic.

~2-3 days is enough to cover the city's core sights—Twin Towers, Merdeka Square, and the main heritage and food districts—while 4+ days allows day trips to nearby hill stations or the Batu Caves area.
