A soft-rock night in Cotai
This is a ballad show in a seated theatre. Air Supply plays the Broadway Theatre in Macau on 1 November 2026. The room is a proscenium theatre, not a stadium, so the songs are heard at close range.
The theatre sits inside Broadway Macau, the lower-key, street-level part of the Galaxy Macau resort on the Cotai Strip. Outside the auditorium there are no casino floors, only a covered promenade of food stalls and shops.
The duo and the songs people come for
Air Supply formed in Melbourne in 1975. Its core has always been Russell Hitchcock’s high tenor and Graham Russell’s songwriting. Their run of hits in the early 1980s made them one of the best-loved soft-rock acts in Asia, and that following has lasted for decades.
The songs audiences usually wait for are the big ones:
- “All Out of Love”
- “Lost in Love”
- “Making Love Out of Nothing at All”
- “The One That You Love”, their US number one from 1981
- “Even the Nights Are Better”
No setlist for this night is given here. Those five are simply the songs that have built the duo’s reputation on stage.
Broadway Theatre and the street outside
The venue is a purpose-built theatre with raked seating. It is much smaller than the Galaxy Arena elsewhere on the same resort. In a room this size the seats far from the stage are still in the same room as the band.
Broadway Food Street runs right outside, and it is where most of the pre-show crowd eats. The stalls serve Macanese and Cantonese snacks:
- pork chop buns
- egg tarts
- curry fish balls
- almond cookies
- noodle bowls
Most of these are things you hold in your hand or eat standing up, which suits a show night.
Getting across to Cotai
Cotai is the strip of reclaimed land between Taipa and Coloane. It is the obvious place to stay for this concert. Many fans book into Galaxy Macau’s own hotels or one of the neighbouring Cotai resorts and walk to the theatre.
From Hong Kong, visitors usually come one of two ways:
- Ferry: boats run to the Taipa Ferry Terminal, the closest crossing point to Cotai.
- Bridge: buses run over the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge to the Macau port.
From the ferry terminals, the bridge port and the Border Gate, the big resorts run free shuttle buses. Riders do not need to be hotel guests. The Macau Light Rapid Transit’s Taipa Line also runs through Cotai, and taxis queue at every resort entrance.
Show night at Broadway Macau
Macau’s currency is the pataca. In the resorts, Hong Kong dollars are accepted almost everywhere, usually at close to par. Cards work at the theatre and in most restaurants. Some smaller food stalls are easier with cash or the mobile wallets that mainland and Hong Kong visitors use.
Tipping is not expected. Sit-down restaurants in the resorts usually add a service charge to the bill. Cantonese is the street language, but in Cotai English menus and English-speaking staff are standard.
The audience is mostly people who grew up with these songs. Expect a singalong mood rather than a mosh pit. The first notes of “All Out of Love” usually get the whole room on its feet with phones held up, and the encore tends to be where the biggest hits land.
Bags are generally screened at the theatre doors. The usual Macau venue rules apply, and professional cameras and recording equipment are not allowed in.
Before the lights go down
Most people make a full evening of it. Fans typically eat on Broadway Food Street, walk through to Galaxy Macau’s main lobby, then head back to the theatre with time to find their seats.
Anyone crossing back to Hong Kong the same night usually plans around the last ferry or bridge bus. The other option is a Cotai hotel and a morning in Taipa Village, a short taxi ride away. There, Rua do Cunha’s bakeries and the Taipa Houses–Museum make a calm end to a soft-rock weekend.
The promoter handles ticketing and seating categories. This guide gives no prices or door times for that reason.
