How do I get to Siem Reap?
Most travellers fly into Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI), which opened in October 2023 roughly 45-50 km east of the city and is reached by taxi or shuttle bus in about 45-60 minutes; the older in-town airport (REP) has permanently closed. Overland travellers typically arrive by long-distance bus or shared taxi from Phnom Penh or other regional hubs, a journey of several hours, as Cambodia has no passenger rail service to Siem Reap.
How many days should I spend in Siem Reap?
Plan on ~3-4 days to cover the main Angkor temple circuit at an unhurried pace, with an extra day or two if you want to add outlying temples, a floating village, or downtime in town.
